Most of the poems in this anthology have been translated by Dr. Robert Woodhouse, linguist and honorary research consultant at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. The author expresses her gratitude to Dr. Robert Woodhouse for his selfless labour, without which this anthology of English translations could not have been published.

Lioudmila Larkina was born in Russia.
Her first poems were published, when she was nine years old.
She has authored scientific articles on ethnography and applied art, as well as seven books volumes of poetry and more than fifteen books volumes of short stories, essays and novels; she has authored number of historical books about White Russian emigrants in Australia. She has won a number of international and interregional literary prizes.
She is a member of the Association of Australian Authors, а member of the International Writers Association "The New Contemporary”.
She is a chief editor of the Australian Russian community magazine “Australian Lampada” (The Australian Icon Lamp), organizer of literacy and musical salon "Lampada" in Queensland, Australia.
Lioudmila is a graduate of the Medical College and of the Philological Faculty of the State University in Russia. She has worked as a surgical nurse in Medical Department; and also senior scientific officer in several other historical – literary museums; and also a teacher in the field of aesthetics in the Education Department and State Library in Russia.
